My daughters are different. Clearly, you might say, as they are different people. But there is a certain assumption that what works or has worked for one will work for the other, particularly in the cases of older & younger siblings. When called out into the light of day, of course, this seems silly, but sometimes unspoken assumptions unwittingly influence actions.
To bring it to a less esoteric level - Olivia loved to nurse. Forget solid food - she didn't want it. She breastfed almost exclusively until she was one, and only weaned at about 22 months, when we became pregnant again. Elsie, on the other hand, wants food. Anytime anyone is eating anything, her baby toe-rometer gets to work, and she tells us all about how she wants to eat.
